Why We Started

It all started around a campfire (where else?). A group of us — weekend backpackers, thru-hikers, casual wanderers — realized that finding honest, reliable gear advice online was harder than climbing a switchback in August.

Most websites were either trying to sell us the most expensive gear possible or drowning us in jargon. What we wanted was simple: clear, honest advice from people who actually use the stuff.
