ALPS Mountaineering Lynx 1 Person Tent Review 2019

If you are a solo adventurer, you might be looking for a 1 person tent that is both lightweight and sturdy. ALPS Mountaineering claims it’s Lynx 1 Person Tent is for you. Let’s review.

Features of the ALPS Mountaineering Backpacking Tent

ALPS Mountaineering has fitted it’s Lynx 1 Person Tent with all the bells and whistles of a premium tent but at a fraction of the price. Comparing it to other 1 person ultralight tents, this tent appears to be a bargain!

Perhaps one of the most notable features of this tent, is its super quick assembly. Fitted with 2 pre-bent aluminum poles, the tent is free standing and is a breeze to setup. This tent feature is very handy.

Moving on to the tent itself, we have an all mesh construction for added ventilation. This means virtually no condensation. The outer 75D 185T fly of the tent is a polyester fabric. This fabric is both waterproof as well as UV resistant. And if that wasn’t enough the fly and floor seams have been factory sealed to make sure no matter how heavy a rain shower, no water gets in.

Looking at the floor of the tent, it is a 75D 185T Poly Taffeta fabric, which has a 2000 mm coating. ALPS Mountaineering has absolutely nailed this. And as we talked before, the floor seams have been factory sealed so you do not have to worry about water getting into the tent.

The 75D 185T polyester fly also houses a spacious vestibule. So all of your gear has a safe place to spend the night just like yourself.

Getting in and out of the tent is also fairly easy due to the #8 zippers which are both functional and durable. A tent becomes a terrible place to live if the zipper is broken. So seeing ALP Mountaineering put some thought here is an extremely good indicator of the overall quality of the tent.

Being less than a $100, this tent is very well priced.

And last but not the least, the limited lifetime warranty that ALP Mountaineering provides is a blessing for anyone who is worried about its durability. Seeing this type of confidence in their products, it is no wonder that it ALP’s is a best seller and popular tent.
