Hyke & Byke 650 Fill Power Down Sleeping Bag Review 2021

Hyke & Byke is a relatively new brand in the outdoor gears market. But being new hasn’t stopped them from achieving recognition. There sleeping bags are considered the best bang for your buck products on the market. Hyke & Byke 650 Fill Power Down Sleeping Bag is one such product which is looking to provide industry-leading value for money without sacrificing quality.

Features of the Hyke and Byke 650 Hiking Sleeping Bag

Let us start with the construction and the overall build quality of the bag. It is made from a 400T 20 D ripstop nylon fabric. This particular fabric is known to be quite resistant to wear and tear. Not only that, the use of nylon fabric makes the sleeping bag light. It is one of the lightest sleeping bags we have come across. Kudos to Hyke & Byke for this.

400T 20 D ripstop nylon fabric is also water resistant and keeps the bag well insulated. This makes it an ideal companion to use on trips to coastal areas and regions where moisture is forever present.

Unlike most other affordable sleeping bags, the zippers on Hyke & Byke 650 Fill Power down Sleeping Bag are quality components. Double large YKK zippers are super durable with an anti-snag construction. The anti-snag construction ensures that the fabric doesn’t get caught up in the zipper during use.

In addition to quality zippers, the sleeping bag has wide shoulders which make it spacious as well as a foot box for the time when you need to wiggle your toes. There is also a snag-free Velcro, horizontal baffles and a drawstring for the ultimate convenience.

The sleeping bag comes with a compression case bundled in. While compressed, the overall dimensions of the bag are considerably reduced. Measuring about 10″ long and 7.5″ in diameter while compressed makes the bag portable and ready to be taken anywhere.

The compression case itself is 400T 20D ripstop nylon fabric. The top and bottom, on the other hand, are 210D PU-coated nylon. The case is simply Tough and lightweight.

And of all of the above features are contained in a body which only weighs 3 lbs. Hyke & Byke claim this is the lightest sleeping bag on the market and we don’t disagree.

Hyke & Byke 650 Fill Power Down Sleeping Bag comes in 3 sizes in a total of 4 colors, priced between $140-$160.

Pros

  • One of the lightest sleeping bags on the market
  • Can be used in temps as low as 15 Degree Fahrenheit
  • Compression case works well
  • Waterproof
  • Excellent value for money

Cons

  • Not as plush or comfy as other bags

As you can already see, we can only find one flaw in this bag and that too is a minor issue. This stands as a testament to the quality of this sleeping bag.
